John rubbed his eyes hard, trying to compose himself for just a minute. Did he just see twins? What was it, why did he think someone was missing for a moment, the whole class was in order. He saw Edward, Dave, Janette and Molly Aiselle the new student sitting together as a group. Janette was giving her conventional, perky happy go lucky smile, she seemed a lot like the student so it's not surprise they got along, they even had the same eerie smile.

That thought, that line of reasoning shook John off. Something was wrong about it, though he couldn't pin down what. Her smile, what about her smile? Jane always smiled didn't she, just like she always wore that tacky sweater.
The new student however, was something else. "Where'd she even get those clothes?" he asked, completely oblivious to the fact that they were the same one's the former Janette had been wearing mere moments ago.
He also thought they'd looked alike, almost like twins, but how could he have thought that, they looked nothing identical or remotely resembling one another. Didn't they? His mind was playing tricks with his head, but he was pretty sure they weren't identical in any way.
Nor were David and Eduardo. Sure sometimes they dressed alike, but they were two separate young boys. Who, seemed to get along great with the new student. She chatted it up dimly with the two of them, doing the project like an expert and wooing the two over, almost instinctively and yet, separately with each flirtatious jest. He could almost swear he saw them smiling real wide with how happy she could make them, but that was another trick. They always smiled and were happy kids, weren't they?
