Jon couldn't help but consider the first time he'd ever seen a ghost on the silver screen. It'd set his life on a trajectory that might've otherwise not happened. When, at a drive-in with the rest of his family, he saw a kitschy film about a poltergeist haunting an innocent family, it stuck with him. Why he liked the idea of a ghastly creature like a ghost existing he didn't quite know. Truthfully, the ghost in the film did nothing but knock vases over and slam doors. But for Jon, it morphed into an obsession of sorts, especially once he discovered the Internet. Spirits which haunt the living were hot. Spirits which haunt the living by taking over their body and doing all sorts of naughty things to them were even hotter.
The Internet allowed Jon to explore his particular fetish even more. Now it just wasn't creepy ghosts he was interested in. Swapping spirits, swapping bodies, swapping lives now was on his radar. Becoming haunted by a ghost which overtook your body, changing it to suit its needs....all that now was in his belt of expanding fetishes.
But the World Wide Web had an interesting effect on Jon. Much like how he loved possession, it possessed him to go even deeper into fetishes he may not have ever considered. Cursed Loot was an idea exposed to him in friends DnD campaigns, but when he'd seen it mentioned as a mod to one of his favortire adventure games, he rushed to download and try it out. That got added too.
Jon couldn't, by the time he had reached early maturity, help himself with his odd assortment of fetishes and quirks. He wished deeply that he could be the victim and perpetrator (maybe one more than another, he didn't know) of scenes involving cursed loot, possession and forced body swaps; RPG elements made it sound even more fun. Maybe he'd log onto his laptop and play a few hours of his favorite game....
The world after Jon's wish had different plans. Jon stood up from his bed...
