The Wish Orb Crackles

John stared on as before he even made his wish, his touch alone had activated the Orb's magic. It sensed and recognized him as it's master and the cracks leaking mystical energy accompanied that. He slowly stepped back as it cracked and creaked bit by bit, as gas and lights filled the room. Almost knocked over, John barely held himself up when the Orb exploded in brilliant flash, almost blinding his eyes. When he opened them there was a small creature that looked like a rat or mouse, with wings and wide beady eyes. It levitated up onto John's shoulder and commanded him to make his wish, but to be warned that whatever wish he made would soon be "Feasted on" again as the creatures hunger intensified. Swallowing hard, John wasn't quite sure what to do. He supposed he could test it out, but there was something suspicious. He held the creature in his palms and thought about his next decision.
