John let the girl in, finding out that he watched her for his neighbor a few doors down, who apparently would be up shortly. John assumed this meant the mother was another of his new friends. Cassandra smiled at the girl and introduced herself.
John thought, this was going well. Even for all the little blips and mess ups in wording.
Then there was a banging on his door.
"...shit." John said, realizing the orb wasn't back here yet. He wondered if it was going to wait till it got a fifth person...well that could be a problem for John if whatever was behind the door meant him harm.
"Who is it?" John said, leaning towards the door eyehole...
