"Uh, Jessica?" he asked.
She turned around in her chair, looked at him, and said, "Will...right?" She smiled in a familiar way.
"What's with the wardrobe change?"
"What do you think...it's the latest thing. Everyone's doing it."
"Dressing down?" Will asked.
"I wouldn't expect you to understand. You aren't exactly fashion forward. No offense."
"You just seem different."
"I've been a bit busy. I had my performance review yesterday."
That made sense, he supposed. Her performance review was probably done by a woman...immune to her charms. That would explain the more modest clothes and the sudden interest in work, but not the fact shed' not only gone more modest, but retro.
He shrugged internally. Maybe it was a trend. Like swing dancing or something. He wasn't exactly a hipster. He looked around the floor, and suddenly noticed something he hadn't before. A few of the men were doing the same thing. The office dress code was usually business casual...but a lot more people wearing suits that also looked sort of dated. He hadn't even noticed. He assumed it took someone like Jessica to push the point home to him. He didn't really look at people's clothes much.
Maybe those styles were making a comeback. But, there was still something weird going on.
