There was a knock on the door. Gary, being snapped out of his confusion, for the moment, turned around and opened the door. It was Buffy.
"Look everyone. David finally proposed to me." She showed them her ring.
"David?" asked a puzzled Gary.
"Yeah, David Wright." David Wright was one their neighbors.
"But ... he's 46. And he's already married."
"Yeah, I know. But he's still so sexy."
"Did you hear what I said? He's married already."
"Dad, stop being such a downer. He obviously wants me, otherwise he wouldn't have proposed to me." She looked at Jenny and said "Mom, take a look."
"Wait a minute. Jenny's not your mother."
"Dad, what's wrong with you? I have 2 mothers."
This is all getting too confusing, Gary thought. Then he looked around. "Where's the stone?" When Buffy told everyone the "good news", he must have dropped it.
"Is this what you're looking for, Dad?" asked Buffy, as she picked it up off the floor.
"Yes, give it to me."
"What is it? It looks pretty."
"Please, give it to me," he said impatiently.
"You know, Dad. I wish ..."
