After the lesson finished the three girls quickly made their way into library to find a quiet spot and discuss things. The trio sat near one table and quietly started to chat. "So, what did you have in mind when you said you want everyone to give something to talk about?" Jennifer asked Sarah, who smirked. "Well, if I know the three harpies well, they will try to bully one of us soon. Probably during lunch. So I figured we might as well use that to make a scene." Karyn raised an eyebrow "What kind of scene?" she asked. Sarah shrugged "Well, I figured I could do a rather heated talk down. Or one of you could do it. That or going bit more extreme..." she said in thought. Jennifer blinked "What do you mean more extreme?". Sarah blushed "Well... I figured I could maybe... err... kiss one of you in cafeteria and proclaim myself as bisexual?" she said with a blush and her friends blinked in shock.
"Wait... what? Are you actually er... bi? Or are you just gonna do that for shock value?" Karyn asked. Sarah shrugged, still with blush "I don't know. I am bit curious after hanging out with you two, so guess I am bi-curious at least. And if neither of you agree to this I am just fine with tearing those cheerleader bitches a new one..." Jennifer and Karyn looked at each other, looking unsure "Er... I don't know about a kiss thing. Maybe let's just stick to tearing into those harpies? Could buy some juice to spill on them too. Not that I mind giving you a kiss, but think your first kiss with girl should be more... private. So you would be sure if you liked it or not. Don't want any negative associations from public, right?" Karyn said to Sarah. Jennifer nodded "Right. Also one good thing you could do, Sarah, is to do some apologies to people you used to bully. No offence, but you have been a bitch to a lot of people here. A little apology to them would be great place to start." Sarah nodded "You are right. I should do that since I am trying to flip over new page. Not sure if anyone will feel like hearing me out though..." she thought for a bit "Have an idea, though. Some people in student council owe me a favor. I could use school speaker system to give a formal apology to everyone." Jennifer blinked "That seems bit... extreme." Sarah shrugged "Way I see it I have a lot to make up for so may as well go big." Karyn nodded "I agree with Sarah on this. Also you said you want to meet coach and tell her you quit squad, right? We could go do that now and then go to student council." She said to Sarah. Sarah nodded "Right. Let's go then?" both of her friend nodded back and the trio left library.
It did not take long for girls to find the coach and after Sarah explained her reasons for leaving the squad the coach seemed very understanding and wished her best luck. After that the trio made their way into student council where Sarah was quick to negotiate the use of public announcement system in school. Which brought the girls to the announcing room where Sarah was already sitting in front of microphone, with her two friends and head of student council George Wyne.
Sarah took a deep breath and turned on the microphone, starting her speech.
"Hello everyone, this is Sarah McMillan speaking." she paused for a moment "I am sure that my current behaviour in school is one of most hot topics currently so I decided to address student body and clear some things up. Yes, I am quitting cheerleader squad, I already discussed this with coach Campbell and notified her of my reasons of quitting. Yes, I pretty much ended my so-called friendship with Wendy Miller, Ashley Wright, Brenda Simmons and other people who pretty much hanged out with me just for social status and money. The two girls that I went to school with today - Karyn Black and Jennifer Madison - are much better friends and people than anyone I used to hang out with. Both of them showed me kindness and compassion and offered me help and support during one of darkest moments in my life. Something, for which I will be forever grateful and will be doing my very best to show I am worthy of their friendship." Both Karyn and Jennifer smiled behind Sarah. "Yes, Biff Coleman is not my boyfriend. I payed him to pretend to be one so I could have an excuse to get away from home. For what is it worth, Biff - thank you for helping me out." she paused again "Now that I cleared all of that up, there is something much more important I want to say." she paused "I want everyone to know that I am sorry. I have been a bully and colossal bitch to a lot of students in this school and have been often disrespectful to some of the teachers too. While I have some personal issues which were part of a reason I acted this way, it is not a good excuse. It should not be an excuse. No-one deserves to be treated like shit just because someone else had something bad happen to them." she pauses "These last few days I learned some important lessons that were missing in my life. I learned that it is okay to ask for help when life is difficult. I learned that it is okay to be helped. Needing help is not something that should be looked down on. I also learned that first impression is not always right. And that if you make effort to better know people they might surprise you." Sarah paused to look at Karyn and Jennifer, to give them a smile and then continued "As such I will admit I was wrong to act like I did and I want to offer my apologies to these people: Allison Hollins, Charles Jackson, April Caltron, Judy Hoppe..." the list continued for a bit as Sarah calmly listed off one name after another, pausing at the end. "I am sure that to some, this apology might be just hollow words. I can only say that I will try to do my best to make up for everything bad I did to all of these people and will be sure to apologize in person as well. I can only promise that I will do my best to be a better person in the future. Thank you to everyone for your attention." she said and turned off the microphone.
Sarah then turned towards the group behind her and smiled lightly "Well, what do you think?" Karyn and Jennifer chuckled and gave Sarah a hug "I think that was perfect, Sarah." Jennifer said and Karyn agreed "Yeah. Though you are likely to get a lot of attention now." George chuckled behind girls "I will admit I was sceptical when you asked this, Sarah, but what you did needed guts. I can respect that. Now you three should probably make yourselves scarce before a crowd swarms here." The three girls nodded and after saying their goodbyes and thanks rushed out of the room.
Three friends made their way outside the school to nearby small park, sitting on bench. Karyn leaned back and sighed "Well, that was something. After this we probably are better of skipping rest of the day. What do you girls think?" Before any of her friends could answer Jennifer's phone vibrated as she answered a call.
"Hello, mom. Me? I am currently near school with Sarah and Karyn. What is up?" she frowned as she listened to her mom, turning worried really quickly "Oh god... Is she alright? Yes, we will be there soon. Love you, bye." she hanged up her phone and looked at her friends "Mom just called, Zoe is currently in the hospital. I am going to go visit her. You girls will join me?" she asked and Karyn nodded "Of course I will. You, Sarah?" Sarah nodded too "Of course I will go with you. This is what friends are for, right?" Jennifer smiled "Thanks, girls. Let me call taxi." she said and started to dial a number.
