The AEP unit was spasming on the ground. I doubted that he could even fire back if he wanted to. "02." was what the clan leader as he stood over the dying cyborg. 02's twitching quieted some as he moved to look at his leader and murderer. "Thank you for the warning. I'm fine." he said as he lowered the gun for the finishing shot. 02 only smiled angelically. "Open your eyes, 02! Run! Get up! Please!!" I screamed at him. Anything for him to live. Brett blinked and stepped back. "Damn. I really was not expecting that." he said. I did not care about what he had to say. I just rushed forward. "Don't let him do this! It's not his fault!" I screamed. Tears were running down my face. 02 turned to me and blinked. "I... I see now." he said. He then back turned to leader and said "This is what a real friend is for." I got to 02 and helped him sit up. The leader's gun hand did not waver, even as the injured 02 got on his knees and then stumbled. He simply said "Brianne is begging you. Can you see me? You have to open your eyes." I decided to lift him up. 02 tried to move, but he almost fell a second time.
I was there to steady him, but it was clear he was fucked at the moment. "Please." he said. "Please, what!?" the leader asked him. "Please stop it!!" I screamed. I could not let this happen. "Please... end it." he whispered, but all of us heard it. "Okay." the leader said. I glared at the leader and moved so that I was in-between them. "No way. I am not letting you do that." I said firmly. I cried for him. This was a bit too intense for me. After 5 minutes, the Volition Clan leader grabbed me by the collar. I refused to look at him. It was too late for me to pretend that I was cold and did not care. "Stop crying. He can't hear you anymore." he said. I shoved him away. "We could do something! We could save him. Why do that!?" I demanded. He looked at me and smirked. "Yeah. I bet you want to see a world where things go exactly your way. He was fucking dead the second that ooze wormed into him. Even if he lives, he'd be marked as a deviant and exiled." I glared. "Then why not do that!? You only get one shot at life! It would be better if he wanders." I snapped. "It was you. You with the smugness."
