First and second period for Jon was double maths, which Trevor and Damian also had so the three of them decided to walk there together. Since they’d been inside the yard had grown busier and even though there was still a considerable crowd even though the bell had rung, no one noticed them leaving the bell tower. A second bell rang, giving them final warning to get to class so they picked up the pace and got to the classroom just as the tardy bell rang.
Fortunately their teacher hadn’t arrived yet so they were able to get to their usual seats before he arrived a few minutes later. When he did, Jon could have sworn he looked at each of the three of them directly, but thought he must have imagined it. After all, why would he? All throughout the lesson Jon could swear that he was watching the three of them, but that was just paranoia surely?
When the bell rang the teacher, Mr Fithyn closed his textbook and said “That’s it for today. On your way out everyone grab a worksheet, I want it done to hand in on Friday. Damian, Jon, Trevor please stay behind, I’d like to have a word with you three.”
The three of them looked at each other in confusion and walked to the front as the rest of the class filed out. When they were gone, Fithyn crossed to the door and closed it for privacy, then, to the three boy’s confusion locked it and pulled the blind down over the door window.
“What’s this about sir?” asked Trevor.
Fithyn smiled and adjusted his glasses. “I wanted to talk about what you boys were doing in the bell tower earlier.” The three of them froze - how did he know? Seeing that they were reluctant to answer he sighed and reached up to fiddle with the small broach pinned through the knot of his cravat. His form rippled and shifted, the young silver haired man becoming even more like an anime white haired pretty boy than he usually was. His suit melted away to reveal a body covered in black and grey feathers, and his feet and hands resembling the talons of a raven, while wings sprouted from his back, fully extending to stretch from one side of the room to the other.
The three familiars’ jaws dropped as one.
