OK, so Jenny doesn't remember the stone now, but yesterday she did. So what's happpened?
"Um, Jenny, did anything strange happen to you last night?"
"Like what?"
"Anything - anything at all."
"Hmm - oh! Like, ohmigod, I almost totally forgot!" Jenny then relayed the story of how Buffy Meadows' dad snuck into her house and ogled her doing her exercises. "Mom came up and told me that he was all, like, sick and stuff from being out of town."
"Out of town?" Karyn knew that meant something, but couldn't quite place it.
"Yeah, he came home and he was all, like, weird and everything - he even acted like he didn't recognize Buffy! Karyn," Jenny said, looking upset, "You won't, y'know, say anything to anyone about that, willya? It'd, like, riiiilly embarass Buffy."
"Uh, no, I won't say anything, Jen," Karyn said, her mind racing. Biff's dad somehow remembered his son the way he used to be! But why? He was - that's right! The stone only works has a distance limit! And he came over and did something to Jenny! But does he still have the stone? And he doesn't, where is it? "Jenny, listen, can I come over to your place tonight?"
"Why?"
"Oh, uh, you wanted me to help you study for Mr. Wheeler's Lit test tomorrow."
"Oh yeah." As they entered the school, Jenny paused to consider this, her brow squinching up prettily with the effort. "Ummmmm, wait - no, I already promised I'd, like, go to the mall with Roni and Jamie after practice. Besides," she giggled, "All I gotta do to pass is wear that pink top to class and keep the top two buttons open - Mr. Wheeler always passes us if we do that!"
Karyn rolled her eyes. "Well, what about tomorrow night?"
Now Jenny rolled her eyes. "Duh, Karyn - tomorrow night's the game with Oak Hills High! I gotta be there to cheer, and then after, we're all, like, gonna go out partying and stuff!"
"Oh."
"Look, if you wanna come tomorrow night, you can - it'll be totally phat! And if not, c'mon by Saturday. But not before 1:00," she added with another giggle, "I might be, like, a little out of it before then."
"That - yeah, I guess that'll be okay."
"Cool! See you then, Karyn, I gotta go! Regina!! Hi-IIIIIII!!" Jenny squealed, running to catch up to her fellow cheerleader.
Karyn wondered if she should wait the two whole days. Could something happen between now and then?
