I started walking my team to the machine at the opposite end of the row. It was time for us to start. If we could get it done, that would set us up for a real success when it came time to narrow things down to the final 20. I looked at the twins. "Do you guys want to go first? After Mark's team shit the bed, this would be a great look for the researchers." They looked at Mark, still stomping around and cursing at his lackeys. Both of them turned to me and nodded. They had already agreed after doing a round of rock paper scissors that Karl would be the Top the first time. That was why Paul, Karl and I were wearing the Top plugsuits and the others had the Bottom set. The Top plugsuit was orange with the sides, feet and hands being yellow. The Bottom plugsuit was the inverse. The Bottom plugsuit had an additional ring around the waist and clasps at the sides. That was the apparatus for the controls. Those only engaged when the Synchronization Rate between a Top and Bottom was 50% or above. Kody and Karl took their positions and the monitor fell as they began to concentrate on the task.
Everyone was watching the twins as the monitor began to change from the blank screen to a chart with two intersecting lines. From what we told, the orange line was the Top's output and the yellow line was the Bottom's. They went from 0 to 100 and intersected at the 50% mark. The lines were slowly raising as they focused on synchronizing on each other. When the lines settled, both were were at 96%. That looked really good. There was a ping and then the screen changed again. "MTM Synchronization Rate 92%." the monitor reported. Apparently, the rate of synchronization was calculated by multiplying the percentages of both the Top and the Bottom. There was a small hiss from Kody's plugsuit as the controls extended from his waist towards his brother. Karl opened his eyes and took hold of the controls. Everyone was looking at them. Our team was cheering for them. The researcher attending to the machine said "Good job. Being in the 90's is going to get you real far if this is the setup you have. Do you want to switch positions. I know that you are male twins and all, but it can't hurt."
They looked at each other and nodded. That was what they had planned from the beginning. While they were switching their plugsuits, Paul stepped forward. "I want to do it! I want to do it." he said enthusiastically. The researcher gave him a blank look. "No one is stopping you here." Kira smirked and said "Let's go then." Paul practically leapt into the Top seat. Kira settled in in front of here. "You're looking good Kira!" he said. She snapped her head back to scold him, but Paul was not being lewd at all. He was just too excited to think about being political. She rolled her eyes and said "Alright then." They closed their eyes and the monitor reset. Neither of them were as good as the twins. Paul's orange bar only got to 78%. Kira was at 81%. "MTM Synchronization Rate 63%." the monitor reported. Paul was able to take hold of Kira's controls. "Pretty good." was all the researcher had to say. Paul was over the moon. "That was awesome! I could feel you there with me in my head." he said to Kira. She smiled back and said "It felt nice." It was now our turn. I looked at Shane. He was looking as nervous as I felt.
Shane was looking down at the ground. I had to be the one to get us through it. I was the Top after all. I put my hands on his shoulders. He looked up at me in shock. "Wh-what!?" he snapped. "Shane. I'm nervous too. That's why I wanted to go last. How are you feeling?" I asked to break the tension. He said "I'm pretty nervous too. What are we going to do!?" he asked, starting to panic. I squeezed his shoulders a bit to ground him. "Calm down. There's nothing to it but to do it. I want things to go well. If we do our best, I think it will work out." I said calmly. He just nodded. I slowly walked over to the Top seat. Shane went in front of me for the Bottom position. I could see his ass, but it did not matter to me because I was also a guy. We both closed our eyes and I could hear the monitor coming down. Now that we were synching for real, I had to do a minigame as a Player. There was a minute time limit. I had to find matches out of 100 cards that were spread out in front of me. This was not my forte, but I got 39 matches. That raised my bar to 78%. I opened my eyes. I hoped that we got a good result.
