Jon blinked as new memories flooded his mind, memories of growing up with Sam (the Sarah of this reality). They had first met in Elementary school and had quickly become friends. Over the years their friendship had remained strong, even though their interests had diverged somewhat as they grew older; Sam had taken an interest in weightlifting and exercise while Jon had become a geek. Sam took a casual interest in Jon's past times while Jon had taken a casual interest in fitness, and as such was in slightly better shape than in the original reality, but for both it was only a casual interest, and the depths of which the other delved into those pastimes baffled them.
Despite these differences, they were best friends, and often engaged in friendly teasing of each other's hobbies, but nothing malicious, only ever friendly banter.
