He found a few that looked like him, though perhaps more muscular, or more handsome. Carefully, he took his time clicking on each, and checking out his body. A smirk grew on his face as he flexed a more fit version of himself. He swept the longer hair out of his eyes after clicking a figure that took after Zoe's style. There was even a tubby version of himself that he clicked on just for laughs. He noticed too that each click changed his room as well. It was never anything drastic of course. In one, his computer had become a laptop. In another his room became far messier with sports jerseys lying about the floor. Still another saw his walls painted black.
As he scrolled through the folder he came across more and more female versions of himself. Most were rather homely. Not that they were ugly, just plain. While he wouldn't admit it, he was somewhat disappointed that his female self was so ordinary. There were some who had a girl next door sort of cuteness, and some that were clearly quite stylish but none were really drop dead gorgeous. That is, until one image caught his eye. Each picture communicated a bit of personality. The thumbnails weren't just plain profile pictures, but rather glimpses into the lives that they represented. The girl he found staring back at him was enthralling. Had he really had the potential to become the beauty he saw on screen?
Without double clicking, he used the keyboard commands to open the file and full screened it. The girl's eyes gazed out at him, and John felt his heart rate quicken. Her cool green iris's invited him in. She was cute and feminine, though in a comfortable sort of way without makeup. Her lackadaisical posture promised a relaxed and contented life. While his pride tried to stay his hand, his curiosity drove the mouse onward.
He closed the window "Do I really want to do this?"
He highlighted the folder "I really shouldn't... Karen might be mad."
He Found the thumbnail "Why would I want to be a girl anyway?"
He gulped. "Ah hell, It's only temporary after all. Let's give it a shot."
