Jon dramatically pulled off his glasses and looked around. After a moment, he paused.
"Er... where's the exit?"
Dr. Takeda smirked. "You're not supposed to be released for at least another day. But, what the hell? There's an emergency exit just down that hall. It'll be locked, but I trust that won't be a problem for you?"
Jon nodded, then took off down the hall. He wobbled a little -- running in heels was definitely less than ideal -- but soon he saw the door. It had an emergency push bar and a sign in big, red letters: "Emergency exit only. Door is locked. Push for 15 seconds to release. Alarm will sound."
"No time for that now!" Jon murmured, mentally commanding the repulsors in his shoes to engage and nullifying his mass. He flew straight towards the door, stuck both fists out in front of him, and then cranked his inertia up. With a crash he smashed through the door and out into the afternoon sunlight. He hovered just outside the door and blinked a bit, looking around.
"Wondering where to go next?"
Jon yelped cutely at the unexpected voice in his ear, losing his concentration for a moment and nearly crashing to the ground. He looked around, but didn't see anyone.
"It's Doctor Bradford. You don't think we would have skipped on communications, do you?"
"I guess that makes sense. So where's the plane?"
"Oh, you thought it'd be right on top of us? You really need to start considering things ahead of time if you're going to be a superhero."
"I know, I know! Spare me the lecture, please, just tell me where to go!"
"Head due south and your should intercept them just before they come down. You'll have to hurry though!"
Jon nodded grimly and took off again.
