Rolling my eyes, I said "Well, that's a big problem. My friends don't belong to you. I'll be taking them with me." His predatory yellow eyes narrowed even further in anger. I could tell that he was going to go hostile towards me in a moment. "Fine then, elf! Prepare to be torn to shreds by a real wolf of the forest!" he snarled before barreling towards me at top speed. I ran for my life around the clearing. Even though he was really fast, he could not make up the large distance we started with. All the rabbitkin here were watching on from the sidelines in shock. Max and Buster were essentially helpless. After it seemed he was tired a bit, I turned on a dime and ducked him in the nose. It gave him a chance to rack me across the chest with his claws. As an elf, I had some innate magic that I could use. In my menu, I had some magic spells that elves like me could cast. However, none of them were actually offensive aside from gust of wind. A line of strong wind 60 feet long and 10 feet wide blasts from you in a direction you choose for the spell's duration. I hoped that it would slow him down a bit.

Each creature that starts its turn in the line must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed 15 feet away from you in a direction following the line. Any creature in the line must spend 2 feet of movement for every 1 foot it moves when moving closer to you. That would include the wolf even if he passed the save to get blasted back by the wind. I watched as he was lifted off his feet with a yelp and landed with a hard thud on his back. I was totally focused on the wolfkin. When, I felt a big hand on my shoulder from behind, I jumped and yelped. It was Baxter. He had a small iron dagger in his hand. I was not sure that it would do much, but it was better than nothing. If I was being honest, I thought that they were totally unarmed and defenseless. Maybe they could pull off a win with me there as a backup. "Go flank and stab him, Baxter! I can keep him pinned down." I encouraged. He nodded and bounded forward. He did it from the side to avoid the gust of wind coming from me. The wolfkin had a deep bleeding gash in his side now. He tried to slash at Baxter, but he was too quick for him.

The gust of wind only lasted for a minute. That meant that we had to make the most of it while we had the time. If we fumbled this opportunity, we might all be killed off by the now enraged wolfkin that was snarling in rage at us in the vortex of air. Max was also able to get a couple of hits in with a dagger of his own. Buster was still on the ground trying to get to his feet. The spell wore off and I watched as Buster stumbled into the wolfkin. He was also armed, but his attack was easily blocked by the bigger and stronger creature. It did serve as a distraction for both Baxter and Max to stab him again from behind. That seemed to be too much for the wolfkin to deal with. He fell to one knee heaving and bleeding profusely. "Damn elf! You're interfering in things that aren't your business. I'll kill you!" he shouted at me. I shrugged. "I really don't think so. You look on the verge of dying. I think you should be asking us to let you live right about now." I told him. He just looked at me and then the rabbitkin. "Fine! You guys are in heat, right? I'll cool you down with my seed." he snapped. I shook my head.
