I opened my mouth to protest, but paused. This body actually felt comfortable and kinda right. I shook my head to clear my thoughts, but I could shake the feeling of rightness.
"Okay it feels kinda nice," I admitted "But still..."
"Please young lady," he smiled "Trust me on this, this is who you were meant to be."
I relaxed. Maybe if I played along I could get my hands on the stone and set things right?
"Okay, say I accept this, how do I explain it to my family?"
"That's been taken care of. I've removed all records of you and soon they'll forget you ever existed. If needs be I can undo the hypnotism on them, but can't you give this a chance first? You're counterpart has already decided to accept it."
I looked over to see my body with a girl's head standing nearby. She gave me a smile and I couldn't help grinning back.
"So what now?" I asked.
"I have arranged new identities for you," he smiled, "You are now Jennifer and this is your brother Jon. You're recent orphans and you're parents have left you a sizeable inheritance, which I will of course provide. I've already purchased an apartment for you two to live in, so you don't have to worry about that. As soon as you feel up to it I can take you there."
