Expecting the character creation screen to reappear immediately after I clicked the link, I was surprised to find myself faced with even more options.

Of course you idiot, there's much more to the Star Wars universe than the films!, I thought, mentally kicking myself.

There were many, many realms being run in this section, but the ones that immediately came to my attention all seemed to have to do with what timeline I wanted to play my character in.

Galactic Civil War: Become a member of the Rebel Alliance to liberate the galaxy from the grip of Emperor Palpatine, join the ranks of the Empire to extend his reach to the farthest regions of the Outer Rim, or try and make your way in the galaxy as a smuggler or bounty hunter in the world of the classic trilogy.

New Republic: With Emperor Palpatine and his apprentice Darth Vader dead, the New Republic struggles to rebuild from the ashes of decades of Palpatine's Tyranny, while new threats great and small try to destabilize the galaxy.

Clone Wars: The Confederacy of Independent Systems grows stronger by the day, as new systems succede from what they see as a decadent and corrupt Republic. The Republic responds in force with a new and elite army of clone troopers, while the jedi caution of a greater threat hidden in the shadows.

Great Hyperspace War: After a long period of peaceful expansion the fledgling Galactic Republic first discovers what will become it's greatest threat: the Sith Empire. See how it all began, in the backdrop of the first large scale interstellar war in history.

Old Republic: The time of giants. Exar Kun and Ulic Qel-Droma, Darth Revan and Bastila Shan. See the golden age of the Republic, and some of the greatest conflicts between the Jedi and Sith.

While I was more an original trilogy kinda guy, there was something appealing about the expanded universe. It would be a tough choice.
