...humans are really reptiles. Karyn believed that before I'd shown her the stone I'd only made a few experimental, harmless wishes like the wishes with the branch, but I hadn't. A few days ago I had made a wish that had reshaped this entire town, perhaps even the whole human race. Currently humans were some sort of mammal descended from apes or monkeys or something (I'm not sure - haven't really been able to read up in depth on how human evolution was now), but they hadn't always been. Prior to my ill thought wish humans had actually been reptiles. We didn't have this soft stuff called skin and hair, we'd had rough, hard scales and our hands and feet had been clawed rather than the pathetic nails we now have.
Who knows what range the stone effected? At the vary least it was the entire town, maybe the nearby countryside too, but beyond that? Who knew? Maybe outside this town were billions of real humans, not the disgusting creatures they were inside it. Maybe there was some barrier at the extremity of the area effected and anyone crossing it would switch from one to the other. Or maybe not, and as soon as the outside world realised that we'd all been changed they'd attack us and kill us all as alien invaders, or capture us and dissect us to find out how we worked.
I chewed my lip and my hand hovered over the phone as I debated whether or not to call.
