Fiona Apollo was having a truly terrible day so far. It had started well enough, she enjoyed her morning jog, grabbed her usual latte, took a quick cute selfie for her followers and headed in to open up the gym. However, things had swiftly gone downhill from there when two men in dark suits and sunglasses had shown up blathering about some sort of mandatory community service. Before she knew it she was bundled off into a waiting van filled with four other confused citizens and shipped over to Lakeview Academy. She'd listened with disbelief as the tv mounted in the back of the van played a recording of a woman in a labcoat telling them that they'd be trading places with some random highschoolers for some sort of program.
On the one hand, she was pretty sure that sort of thing was impossible, but on the other, all these secret agent types were obviously planning to do something with them. She was getting primed to fight her way out when the van doors opened, before the van dispensed something the driver called "calming mist" and she found herself unconsciously relaxing. It also seemed to work on the other people in the van who all adopted placid expressions.
She actually recognized two of them, Susan and Roger McMillan. She was the wealthy socialite's personal trainer, and had met her older husband on a handful of occasions. Susan was wearing a long floral sun dress, while Roger was in a polo and slacks, looking like he might have been on his way to the golf course. However the other two were strangers to her. There was an attractive woman about her age, wearing a grey tweed blazer with black piping over a v-neck satin red blouse and a flowing black skirt. The last one was a wiry looking guy wearing a pool cleaner's uniform.
Eventually the five were helped out of the van and led into the school, eventually finding themselves in a room dominated by a large machine with two human sized pods. Across from them were five apprehensive students and standing in the middle, directing everything, was the same woman from the video, Dr. Stacy Morgan.
"Ah, I'm glad you could join us for the program!" Stacy chirped, "Bruce please help Ms. Fiona into the pod, and Jon, please step into the other. You'll be our first pair. We'll be swapping your minds as well as making a key educational transfer to aid with really immersing yourselves in the new role."
"Wait, educational transfer?" the boy, presumably Jon, asked as he made his way towards the pod. He was a painfully average looking kid to Fiona, and to her trained eye had basically no muscle definition, looking pretty doughy.
"Oh, it's nothing to worry about. We'll just be giving you the knowledge to accompany Ms. Apollo's Sports Medicine degree, which will of course be yours for now. Now let's get to business." Fiona found herself lead into the pod, which closed with a heavy clunk before there was the sound of electric whirring about her. Finally there was a deep pulling sensation and the athletic woman felt herself lose consciousness.
Jon blinked his long lashes as he came to, feeling very different than he had when he stepped into the pod. He looked down to see two sports bra clad breasts hanging prominently off his new slender frame, confirming he was indeed in the body of Fiona Apollo. And honestly it feels pretty good Jon thought as he raised his new slim hands to gently cup his breasts, soaking in all the new sensations. He was breathing easier than he ever had in his own body, and he could only credit that to how in shape Ms. Apollo was. Absently he tucked a lock of his long red hair that had fallen from his pony tail behind his ear and gingerly stepped out of the pod as the door opened.
Everyone was looking at him curiously, as he was the first to step out, and he took a moment to take in the sight before him. He was a bit shorter than he'd been, making everything look a bit different, but the thing that caught his attention was the sight of his own body being helped out of the other pod. It was surreal seeing himself from the outside, and based on how much she was staring at him, it seemed Ms. Apollo felt similarly.
The mismatched pair were quickly ushered into an empty classroom next door, while behind them Roger McMillan and Karyn were being led into the machine. Sitting on the table was Jon's backpack, alongside a white leather purse with gold detailing that he assumed belonged to Fiona. There a tall leggy smiling blonde woman sat them down, and handed them each a folder. She was wearing the same dark suit and sunglasses as the other guards accompanying Dr. Morgan, but had her white undershirt's top several buttons undone and her sunglasses propped up on her forehead, revealing her sparkling green eyes. "Hiya, I'm Lucy Westerberg and I'll be your YCIE liaison for the duration of the problem. Basically I'm here to make sure the two of you can fully assimilate into your new lives, and to act as a go between for Dr. Morgan who'll be overseeing all five pairs."
"Why are you doing this?" Fiona asked, Jon's old voice sounding so weird to him form the outside.
Lucy beamed, "Oh I actually participated in the YCIE myself when I was in school, and it totally changed my life for the better, so I'm happy to be able to give back. Anyways, Fiona please grab your phone for me."
Fiona went for her purse but Lucy interrupted, "Ah, sorry I meant for the current Fiona to grab her phone. To better help you get used to your new roles, I'll be referring to you exclusively by your new names. Also, Jon, it's rude to look in a woman's purse," she teased. Fiona looked like she'd eaten sour grapes, but crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair. Shrugging, Jon reached for the purse and fished around in it until he found an I-Phone with a cute Sailor Moon themed case. He pulled it out and found he was able to unlock it with his new face.
"Super! I'll just put my number in here so you can text me if you have any questions, or just need to chat. Jon, I'll do the same for you." Lucy explained as she added her numbers to the two phones. "Now, these folders have a basic dossier on your new lives so you know the essential information that goes along with your new bodies. Per the terms of the YCIE, you're not allowed to break character outside of YCIE meetings, so it'll be good for you to spend some time today and tonight committing those files to memory."
Jon nodded as he flipped the folder opened, startled at how detailed the information the YCIE had. There was Fiona's social security, all of her personal bank details and those related to her gym, passwords for every app she used, a quick run down of her relationships with each of her family and friends, her workout schedule, an analysis of her posting habits, and even a tab labeled romantic entanglements. Honestly it seemed like a huge amount of information to get through, but Jon figured he could start with the most important stuff, and work his way up to the minutia like favorite ice cream flavor and the like.
"Ugh, like I ever wanted to know this much about some highschool kid," Fiona griped, "How long is this stupid program anyways?"
Lucy pouted, "You shouldn't be so down on yourself Jon, but to answer your question, the YCIE will last through the end of the spring term and up until classes resume in the fall. Now, are there any questions?"
