Later that day three girls entered Karyn's house, carrying lots of bags and all giggling "Really? Karyn asked you out first, Jen? Guess that answers who wears pants in your relationship~" Sarah teased as the three of them entered the house. "Oh, shush. I was really shy back then. And no-one really wears pants in our relationship. C'mon, we are both girls. Why we would need that? We get along perfectly without one of us being bossy or something." she said while Karyn just smiled.
"We can talk about that later. For now let's show Sarah guest room and set our purchases in my room. Follow us, Sarah." Karyn said and the three girls dropped their bags in Karyn's room and Karyn showed Sarah guest room "Feel free to stay here. I'm sure my parents won't mind." Sarah smiled "Thanks, Karyn. You and Jen are helping me a lot. Don't know how I will ever be able to thank you for this." Karyn just smiled "Don't worry your little pretty head over it. Now, would you like to play some board games? We have time to kill until evening." Sarah smiled "Sure."
When Karyn's parents returned home, they found the three girls playing some of board games in the living room and just joking around. Karyn and Sarah soon explained whole situation and Karyn's parents were okay with letting Sarah stay for as long as she wanted.
Suddenly Jennifer heard her phone ringing and she saw that her mom was calling. "I will go answer this in your room, Karyn. Will be right back." Karyn just nodded and Jennifer ran to the room, closing doors behind her and answering the call.
"Hello?"
"Hey, dear. How are you?" she heard her mother's voice.
"I'm fine, mom. I, Karyn and our friend were just having fun together."
"Oh, new friend? Anyone I know?"
Jennifer sighed "It is Sarah McMillan. It is long story, let's just say that her dad is control freak and there is arranged marriage involved."
"Oh, that is sad to hear. Anyways, I was calling you to let you know that your aunt Ember is moving in. Tomorrow after lunch we are supposed to meet her in the mansion she bought. You know, the big one near the lake?"
Jennifer blinked. She did knew the place. It was rather old building, but it still looked amazing and aristocratic. She guessed that Ember pulled all the stops. "I knew she was planning to move in, but didn't knew she would buy that place... Guess since she has money to spare she goes all-out."
"Yeah, though she didn't mention that you knew that she was moving in. When did that happen?"
Jennifer thought about quick lie "She mentioned it in one email she sent to me. Must have slipped my mind..."
"Well, it doesn't matter. Will you be able to come with your friends? I will come by just myself as I doubt you want to see Zoe right now and Jacob has club activities tomorrow."
Jennifer frowned "Mom, about Zoe..." she then told her about conversation she, Karyn and Sarah had at the mall on how Zoe could be just jealous.
"Oh, my..." she could hear her mom's voice say softly "I... didn't even think about it... I just thought it was a phase... Oh, dear... Seems we both have a lot of to make up to for your sister... Do you wish me to bring her to meet your aunt tomorrow too?"
"Yeah. Bring Jacob as well. He can skip one practise. Say it is family matter, he will understand..." she stayed silent for a moment "Mom, what are you going to do about dad?.."
"...I don't know, dear. I really don't know... It is better we talk about that matter in person. Don't want to talk about things like this on phone."
"Okay, mom. Just do what you think is best. Love you."
"Love you too, dear. See you tomorrow. Bye."
"Bye." Jennifer ended the call and returned back to the living room.
Sarah and Karyn raised their heads from the board game as Jennifer came downstairs "Hey, Jen. How is your mom?" Karyn asked. Jennifer smiled "She is alright. Called to let me know that tomorrow after lunch we are going to meet my aunt. You guys should come too." Karyn nodded "So it will be us and your mom, or are your siblings coming too?" Jennifer sighed "They are coming too. Hope Zoe gives me a chance..." Sarah smiled "I'm sure she will. She can't be that heartless to just push away such an amazing sister." Karyn nodded in agreement "Yeah. Oh, and it is your turn, Jen." Jennifer giggled "Okay, okay. Let me think for a moment about my strategy..."
The three girls spent rest of evening playing games and talking about various things.
