Meanwhile, not too far from Jon's house...
The dark ethereal being that seeked the stone, felt the wish being made. The creature while not more powerful than the stone, but still a being of considerable power it could notice quite easily when wishes were being made. Especially because it seeked the stone for a very, very long time now...
That said, it couldn't tell what changed. It couldn't pierce what changes the stone made to reality it inhabited... and being so close to the ultimate prize it also knew full well that the stone could change even itself.
The risk was worth it, though.
With stone under it's control could restore it back to real body, could restore it's old powers... powers it barely even remembered how to use. It was so long, long, long time ago that the being was alive that it slipped it's mind.
It didn't matter though.
With stone in such close proximity it could get some of it's powers back, even without directly invoking it's power. The being already could feel some pieces of itself clicking into place by stone's power as it flew closer and closer to Jon's house.
And then it could feel it again. More wishes were made. The being pauses for a moment, feeling the stone's power wash over it's area of influence. It was close. The being now knew exact location. It didn't matter how many more wishes owner of stone made, soon it will be it's.
The being flies towards Jon's house, feeling how the presence of stone seemingly vanished. Some kind of protection, maybe? It seemed the master of the stone wasn't a complete idiot at least. Still it was too late.
The being flies to the window and slips through it, appearing in Jon's room, invisible to all but those few who had magic sight. It starts to examine the sleeping teenager, figuring that he was master of the stone as it felt the residual energy of stone's magic.
Then the being was assaulted by foreign feelings.
Emotions, to be more precise.
Now, the being had no way of knowing that the wishes Jon made just before it's appearance in Jon's room were actually about it. It had no way of knowing that the stone, hearing Jon's first wish made so the being couldn't hurt Jon and it's family. It also couldn't know about second wish, which in this case is much more important.
"I wish that evil entity that is seeking the stone would not want to hurt me in any way, shape or form and couldn't force me to use the stone, or give the stone to it." was Jon's exact words. Words that the stone interpreted in a pretty unique way.
Being the item that grants wishes, the stone had awareness of the feelings and desires of the person or persons that were using it, holding it or were just in close proximity to it. It wasn't true sentience, just an extra feature that made it so the wishes were granted in way that user desired. Or subconsciously desired. It was all the same to the stone. All that time Jon spent lying on the bed, thinking about wishes, stone read Jon's desires and emotions...
Which resulted in stone making the evil entity to actually want to help Jon.
For that very reason when being appeared in Jon's room it was assaulted with emotions.
You could say it was love at first sign. Or as close to love the being could feel. Maybe admiration? Fascination? A childlike joy of receiving new toy?
Jon will find soon as with high speed the being flies over his body and into it, entering Jon's dreams...
