The Director, Joss Whedon, walked onto the set, a huge smile on his face. He was greeting everyone, saying hello, and giving them qucik notes about what he needed them to do today. Jon watched in fascination as everyone took their direction and immediately went to work. Jon didn't notice Scarlett slip away, but soon he was standing alone, on the set, as Joss, an arm around Chris Evans, walked up to him.
"...and then you throw a right, and a left, duck, spin... you know the moves, and Black Widow will be doing her bit behind you, robots, explosions, it's gonna be great!" Joss said to Chris, with a chuckle as Chris laughed. Joss then turned his attention to Jon. "And look at you!" he said with a huge smile "I may just fire Scarlett and give you her part, you look fantastic!" Joss was obviously making a joke and telling Jon he looked convincing, but Jon still felt nervous and awkward standing around, looking to all the world like a beautiful woman.
"he-heh heh" Jon tried to force a laugh "Thanks?" Joss smiled, this man was good natured and couldn't be put off Jon thought.
"Relax Jon! You look perfect, you know the choreography, right?" Joss asked him.
"Uh, yeah... absoloutely." Jon lied, he knew nothing. But the stone was still in his hand.
"Great!" Joss shouted as he turned away from Chris and Jon and yelled "Places everyone, we're rolling in FIVE!" and Joss made his way across the set to where the monitors were set up. Jon looked over nervously to Chris, who returned his awkward smile.
"Hey Jon." Chris said, a look of concern on his handsome face. "About before..." he started.
"Wha-what?" Jon asked, still very uncomfortable in this situation.
"I talked to Scarlett, and she gave me a good talking to." Chris said, reaching his arms out to take Jon by the shoulders. It was at this momnent that Jon realized how tall Chris seemed. Jon used to be five foot ten inches, but Chris' six foot frame towered over him. It seemed that in becoming Scarlett Johanssons double he had lost at least seven inches in height. "I was a complete jerk back there Jon, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean it, really. You know that you're one of the coolest people on this set, Jon. Honestly I have more in common with you than anyone else here, and what I said before was just dumb. I hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive me."
Jon stood, dumbfounded, his mouth agape, staring up at this man, his blond hair and crystal clear blue eyes, looking down on Jon with a faint tremor of regret in them. Jon thought about how he had felt earlier, and compared what he was feeling right now, and he couldn't make sense of his feelings.
"Jon?" Chris asked, looking for some answer.
"Uh... sure?" Jon said, with no note of sincerity. Chris looked ashamed.
"Jon, please." he said again "You have to believe me. What I said was dumb, and I didn't mean it like that at all." Chris looked around in a second of desperation. "Look, let me make it up to you."
"Make it up to me?" Jon asked, completely confused.
"Yeah, I'll take you out tonight." Chris said with a coy smile.
"Tonight?" Jon repeated stupidly.
"Yes, tonight." he affirmed "We'll get dressed up nice, and I'll take you to an amazing restuarant."
"Nice?" Jon continued his echo impersonation.
"Yea, It'll be like a date."
"Date?" Jon wondered why he could only repeat what Chris was saying.
"Come on Jon, Please?" Chris was begging, and Jon realised that Chris was holding both of Jon's hands in his own. Jon looked down at how small Jon's hands looked cupped inside Chris' large manly ones and then looked back up to Chris' eyes, which were shimmering blue, and Jon said the only thing that came to his mind in the moment.
"I'd love that." Jon said before he realised what he was saying.
"Great!" Chris said, beaming, a wide smile on his face.
"Places everyone!" Jon heard from across the set.
Chris moved his arm around Jon's shoulder, and they started toward their marks. Jon walked, being guided by Chris Evans across the set, wondering to himself why he had just accepted a date from Chris Evans, what Scarlett would say, what Karyn would say, and finally, what would he wear?
