I walked home slowly, wondering what to do with the stone; what could I wish for? All this power at my disposal and...I could only draw a blank. Maybe there's such a thing as too much choice I thought to myself with a chuckle. My amusement was short lived however. I got home just in time to run into my parents as they were leaving.
"Jon what time do you call this?" scolded my mother.
"Sorry mum," I replied, confused "Got chatting with Karryn and-"
"No time for that now," she snapped "your father and I are running late. We've left a list of chores on the kitchen table, I expect them to be done by the time we get back. All of them, or else."
"Why me?" I protested, "Why've I got to do all of them?"
"Your sister's late as well and your brother's too young. That reminds me - make sure he doesn't eat any junk food while we're out and make sure he gets to bed on time."
I sighed and nodded, heading inside and up to my room. Furious I threw my school bag onto my bed and headed back downstairs to do the chores. It took me all evening to do them and it wasn't until I collapsed on my bed exhausted that I remembered the stone and realised I could have used it to get out of doing them.
"Idiot," I grumbled facepalming. "Stupid siblings getting out of doing the chores. I wish...grr...I wish..." I paused and looked down at my bag. Grinning I pulled out the stone. "I wish that I could swap lives with..."
