J-289 identified two individuals, both of them young females. The one had long black hair and black clothes. The drone identified her as Zoe Gibson, the oldest child of Beverly and William Gibson. It flagged the female as 'Owner.' The other had on an ill-fitting shirt too small for her breasts and blonde hair, which the drone identified as Karyn Wells.
It did not move or respond to the females, because it was not programmed to do so. The portion of the drone's mind that was still 'Jon' wanted to do something, but the rules written into its programming matrix were ironclad.
"Holy Crap your drone is hot," Karyn said. That statement sent a dozen queries through J-289's neural matrix, and it made Zoe cock an eyebrow.
"You're so weird," she said. Since neither statement was directed at it, the drone stayed silent. Inside, Jon felt like he was beating against steel walls in a dark room, trying to break free.
"Well, she is." Karyn said, giving the drone a full body glance. The drone was not anatomically correct, being that it lacked nipples and a vagina, but that did not seem to faze Karyn.
"It's an it, not a she." Zoe said. J-289's programming forced it to agree. Drones didn't have a sex, they were objects meant to be used. And neither female was using it. And then the drone noticed a devious smile spread across Zoe's face.
"J-289," she said. "I want you to pretend to be Karyn's robo-girlfriend and kiss her."
The command triggered J-289 and its servos engaged. It stepped off its recharging pad and turned to Karyn Wells, updating her tag to 'Girlfriend.'
"As you command, owner." J-289 said with its synthetic feminine voice.
