Jon watched Karyn leave. She never did tell him what she wished. He tried examing himself to see if anything had changed, even looking in the mirror, but he couldn't notice anything. It might not even be something bad. Either way, Jon would probably find out soon.
"Gumdr . . ." Jon tried saying the word, but it failed. Of course it would. He wondered how long she would wait till she would say the word.
Jon decided to go about his everyday life. He hadn't really used the stone too much, so not making a wish didn't matter too much. He pulled out his phone and started to play time wasting puzzle games.
About an hour later, his younger sister Zoe came back from a friend's house. "Wasting away your time as always, I see," she told him.
"I'm relaxing," Jon said, looking up at his sister. As he looked at her, he felt a slight shiver run through him. What was that? Was it related to the wish? A similar thing happened when he looked at Karyn after she made the wish.
Jon got up and checked himself in the mirror. He couldn't see anything different. Jon went back to the couch and started playing on his phone again. Zoe turned on the TV. Jon glanced at the TV and saw two girls and two guys on the screen. He felt the shivers return, stronger than ever. Jon forced himself to look away.
That confirmed it; whatever Karyn wished, it was activated by looking at another person, even if it was through a TV. He looked at his sister again. Nothing happened. Apparently, it only worked once per person.
"What are you looking at?" Zoe asked.
"Nothing. I'll be up in my room." Jon got up to leave, not wanting to see anybody else on accident.
