The reason they rate it down is because they have a grudge against the author. It's as simple as that. Do you really think the one who just gave the thing I just wrote (the conclusion to the galactic emperor) a 1 actually even READ the thing? Of course not. They saw the recent submissions of the last day, they saw passiveobserver, their blood started boiling that I would dare to keep submitting after they hit my other stuff with 1's, and they clicked on it and gave it a 1, same as always.
