But then Adam realized, she might not need to do anything at all. Her mom was bound to check on Alice sometime, right? And she would notice Adam's car still out front, but Adam no where to be found. Yes, Adam would be found and rescued. The little half-fairy was sure of it. She could play along with Alice for a while. Play pretend to be a fairy. As long as she didn't do too much damage with the magic; a flying five year old was bad enough.

Adam sighed and sat down, wrapping her slender arms around her slender legs, resting her cute chin on her cute knees. The plastic bowl she was trapped inside was translucent, so she could still see all around her and watch Alice play, even if the red bowl gave everything a maroon hue.

She watched her big little sister. It had been a while since Adam had ever really watched Alice play. She had a real structure to her play, always making sure one group of toys was put away before the next group could come out. Adam certainly was never like that. And she always told a story that made sense to a five year old. Right now she had three dolls (all larger than Adam); a Barbie in fashionable black dress, a cute rag doll jester, and the Pink Power Ranger (one of the few hand me down toys Alice wanted). They seemed to be trying to rescue someone or thing.

Adam smiled as she watched Alice play. She had nothing against the kid, she loved her and looked out for her, as any big brother should. Still, she was sore this was Alice was treating her. But the Adam realized, she had been dealing with Alice for five whole years. She knew all the ways to get Alice to do what Adam wanted her to. Surely with that knowledge she could get out of the bowl, at least.

"It sure would be a big help to have wings, though." Adam said, looking down at her little wand. "I wish I knew why I didn't have any."

And then there came a voice. High, serene and perfect. And it came from inside the bowl.

"The reason for that, my dear, is quite simple . . ."
