...the obvious sun temple. Now I figured that because it appeared to be the safest and the best lit temple that it might be the best option to find the path to the artifact. It was obvious that most people would take this path first due to how easy it might look, but if I learned anything from the movies, it's that the most dangerous situations tend to come in plain sight.
The next morning, we set off into the entrance of the sun temple. I was glad to have taken the brightest path, but most of us had flashlights just in case later on in the temple it got darker. Looking at it's decor, the temple did look like it a daily meeting place for commoners to gather to declare their loyalty to their gods. There did seem to be some sort of altar there to sacrifice and an obviously worn out tile where one man had been standing while these sacrifices took place. I hoped that it wasn't the ruler of these people because that seemed more like a dictator than a generous king.
As we continued forward, out of what looked like a royal anointment, I stepped through the doorway into the next room only to realize what I had just done...
