listing the names of who voted what & when, in theory would deter any harsh unjust voting, but it has the potential to lead to said low voter getting bullied off the site.
for example:
personA writes an episode
personB strongly dislikes the episode, for whatever reason, gives it a 1/10
personA "oh, so personB hates my stuff, i'm going to give all their stuff a 1/10 to teach them a lesson"
personB - after multiple new episodes not getting above 4/10 - "why should I even bother" - leaves site /// OR they bully back, both people trash their ratings, site loses traffic.
so a lot of potential for problems with this.
Luckily these super low votes are usually far between, I've even had them on a couple of my episodes.
But they seem to be more attracted to certain episodes, for example:
Religion -- If the episode has links to real world religion (people can get very protective of their beliefs)
Politics -- Yeah, i'm not gonna explain this one. (if done properly, this topic is ok, but yeah, difficult)
Singular sentence/word, or major grammar/typos -- minimal content added or terrible formatting & spelling/grammar errors tend to get the lower votes
(there are probably more, i'll wait to see what other people think before adding anything else to the argument[?])
