Jon walked Karyn over to his home after school. Karyn noticed that Jon was acting strangely quiet than usual, especially whenever she tried to talk about the stone. It was not until the two reached Jon's room, when Karyn finally demanded to know the truth.
"Why are you being so quiet?" Karyn asked. "Did something happen to the stone?"
Silence filled the room for a few minutes, as Jon collapsed on his bed. Jon finally broke the silence with the unfortunate truth.
"It's gone Karyn." Jon said. "The stone was taken away from me."
"Really? Jon why didn't you say so before? Do you know who took it?
"It was Roger McMillan, he took the stone."
Karyn gasped loudly at Jon's answer. To her knowledge, Jon and Roger have had any sort of recent squabble. In fact they don't have any form of relationship at all.
"But why would he do that? Did you do something to him?"
Jon was not sure how to tell Karyn about his wishing frenzy he did yesterday, but before he could a massive headache overcame Jon as reality made slight changes in Jon's room. "Jon are you alright?" Karyn asked with concern. "What's happening."
"It's Roger." Jon said while gritting his teeth. "He's made a wish on the stone."
"How can you tell?"
"He- I mean I made a wish to ensure that I would never have my memories changed from the stone's power." Jon looked away from Karyn hoping she would buy his story. Thankfully for Jon, Karyn bought the story as she continued with the obvious question.
"So what do you think changed Jon?"
"I bet it had something to do with Roger calling in Joseph today."
"Joseph?" Karyn tried to remember any Joseph from school, but nothing came to mind. She noticed that Jon grew quite pale from her lack of knowledge about this dude.
"Forget it Karyn. Don't worry about it."
Later at night, Jon could not get himself to fall asleep. All he could think about were memories of hanging out with Joseph, and how not even Joseph's parents will remember the son they lost to Roger.
The next day proved to be a messy start, as Jon could barely stand the new Zoe's breakfast talk about cheerleading practice and Roger. Of course the trouble did not stop at home, as Jon noticed a huge change when he walked into school. It was...
