I smiled to myself, then put away the stone. Just then, I heard Karyn's voice coming from around the corner.
"Jon? Are you okay?"
I debated running away, but then I thought better of it and peeked around the corner. Karyn was by herself, and she looked worried.
I sighed, then stepped out toward her.
"Oh, there you are! I was worried about you. Sorry about those girls. They can be real jerks sometimes."
"Yeah, no kidding. Look, maybe we should just meet up later."
"Screw them, Jon. They can finish practice without me. Come on, I'll walk home with you."
"Thanks, Karyn."
We slipped around the building and got our stuff from the lockers by going in a different entrance, then started for home. After a few minutes of awkward silence, Karyn spoke up.
"Look, Jon, I'm sorry about this. I know you don't like that I'm friends with Sarah now. I'll try to make her come around, honest. But you and I have been friends a lot longer than me and Sarah. I'll remember that, okay?"
"Yeah. Thanks, Karyn. Sorry for getting mad at you earlier."
"No problem," she said, and held out her hand. I took it, and she smiled at me. It looked very nice on her.
"You know, I kind of like your new look. Especially with the uniform. It makes you look really sexy."
"Thanks, Jon. You know, you don't look "
Karyn stopped for a moment, screwing up her face in concentration. Then she said slowly, "I -- like you look."
"Karyn?"
She blushed and smiled at me, holding my hand and stepping a little closer. "Sor-ry."
Then my brain caught up to itself. Of course, my wish from earlier! Karyn was getting turned on, so she was losing the ability to speak. Wait: Karyn was getting turned on by me?!
I smiled back at her and gave her a hug. With the new cheerleader uniform, there was a lot of exposed skin touching me, and I felt the front of my pants tenting out a bit.
"It's okay, Karyn. I like you too."
"Tha-- Tha"”" Karyn tried to speak, but was unable to do so. In a surge of hormones, I decided to help her out, and gave her a kiss. She stiffened in my arms for a moment, then pressed into me. When we broke the kiss, she stepped back a little, still holding my hand.
I smiled at her, then looked around. "Come on, we should probably head home."
Karyn opened her mouth to say something, then just closed it and nodded instead.
