Just before letting go of Jon's hand, he whispered in Jon's ear, so low that only Jon could hear, "I wish you would win Prom Queen and I'd be Prom King."
Jon wasn't sure how he could win Prom Queen. Not only was Prom Queen selection limited to girls only, but only the most beautifully sexy girl won and there were a lot of very beautiful and sexy girls in school.
"Don't forget we are going shopping for our Prom gowns right after school." Karen told Jon. "We don't want to wait until the last minute; we won't get a great gown if we wait."
'I won't mind waiting.' Jon thought but didn't say. 'How can the day get any worse?' He added to himself.
