(Using some of ozzy's chapter)

In the bathroom, Jon stared at his reflection in the mirror. Am I really going to do this, he thought to himself. He had a pretty good idea how to make it temporary, but even if it was temporary it was still a big change to consider. Still, Stacy had seemed really bored all night. The first bit of excitement he'd seen in her was when she'd opened the Selena Gomez CD and asked him to listen to it with her. No matter how much he wanted to make Stacy happy, though, he really had no interest in listening to the CD. Maybe if he was a 13 year old girl himself he'd have more interest.

On the other hand, if he just did it, then Jon would disappear. At some point, hopefully, as a girl he'd decide it's really a good idea to have Jon back and trigger the reverse transformation.

And then Jon would be back. Perhaps a week later, with history recording that he did something during that time period that he never did. He could just imagine failing a test or starting to date someone not because he did, but because history thought so. Worse yet, would history record him as having used the stone for something during that time period? Maybe not, since using the stone changed history--how could it be a part of history?--but maybe so. Also, Karyn wasn't here. If he was going to become a friend for Stacy, he'd have to go hunt down or call Karyn in order to say goodbye.

If Jon didn't have a magic stone, he'd wish he could be in two places at once. He did have a magic stone, of course, but it wasn't half bad an idea. He'd also have to be careful to make the wish as a unit, so that he doesn't phrase anything as two sentences where the second one thinks it's reversing the first and doesn't work.

"I wish that all of what I'm about to say, up to the word 'abracadabra', will happen as a wish. I will turn into two Jons. The one not carrying the stone will become a 13 year old girl named Mallory Evans, a school friend of Stacy's whose parents had to be away overnight unexpectedly so Aunt Lisa and Uncle Rick agreed to let her stay with them. Mallory's clothing and physical appearance will be based on girls that Stacy is friends with and wishes she was friends with. Mallory's personality and interests will be based 40% on Stacy, 30% on Stacy's 3 closest friends, 20% on the most popular girl in Stacy's class, and 10% based on how everyone in this house other than Stacy and I think a 13 year old girl should be like.

"Mallory will remember being me, but will think of herself only as Mallory Evans, with all her memories as well. Her educational knowledge will be limited to that of a reasonably popular 13 year old girl who gets average to good grades. Mallory can't use the stone and won't try.

"This wish ends when Jon and Mallory touch and say 'We're really Jon Merlin'. They will become me again in mind and body, but I'll remember having been Mallory. Mallory will stop being part of reality, but Stacy will remember her. Stacy won't think it's strange that Mallory is gone and nobody else will think she's strange or disturbed for remembering Mallory. Abracadabra."

Jon felt himself being pulled apart to both the left and right and turned, just in time to face his double, also turning to him. They both looked at each other and at their hands... but he still had the stone. The other Jon's face then reshaped itself like a computer generated image from a TV show and his whole body morphed into a young girl wearing a tight t-shirt with really short sleeves, a tight black sleeveless vest, black skinny jeans, and a pair of bedazzled flip flops.

... but the other one had the stone. He felt slightly disoriented as the other Jon seemed to grow a bit taller. Or rather, she felt slightly disoriented. Mallory wasn't quite sure what had just happened, but she was certain that something had just changed. She caught sight of her reflection and felt her knees go weak. "Omigosh, it worked!" she gasped. "I'm Mallory, and I feel awesome!"

"Mallory?" said Jon.

"In the flesh!" she replied. "You did good making me." She hugged Jon earnestly.

"You are me," said Jon, moving away from Mallory. "Or you were. You're Mallory now."

"Uh-huh!" said Mallory. "And Stacy is my best friend. I can't wait to meet her again for the first time! Bye, Jon. And thanks for everything." Mallory exited the bathroom and walked over to Stacy. "Your cousin was in the bathroom," she said. Mallory remembered that as Mallory she had given Stacy the CD. "I think he's going to go home and he's the last to go so it'll be just us." Stacy's parents didn't count, of course, even though they were letting Mallory sleep over. "Let's listen to your CD now. You can put it on your phone later."

The Jon who stayed Jon, meanwhile left the bathroom and said a quick goodbye to everyone, then headed home, while Stacy and Mallory went to Stacy's room to have some fun together.
