Within the first five minutes of my math class, half of the students were asleep. The cause: the teacher, Mr. Edwards, was incredibly boring. He was in his mid fifties with balding gray hair and he always wore a collar shirt and tie. His voice, however, was completely monotone. I actually enjoy math to some degree, but I even find it difficult to pay attention during his lectures. I could see how intelligent Mr. Edwards actually is, but he seemed stuck in a rut and apathetic to a lot of things, including teaching. Well, I thought, I guess that's something I can help with.
After thinking for a minute about the command, I said quietly, "Mr. Edwards, turn into an incredibly sexy 25 year old woman over the space of thirty minutes. Also, Mr. Edwards, don't leave the classroom and continue teaching until the period is over." The period would be just over an hour long. I sat back in my seat to enjoy the show.
The first obvious changes began within the first few minutes. His hair had gotten thicker and started to turn a deep auburn shade of color. Some of the wrinkles also started to disappear. Mr. Edwards looked a lot younger. The students who were somewhat paying had to do a double take to make sure what they were seeing was real. Mr. Edwards was still oblivious to what was going on.
The next thing to change was his voice. At first, it began to crack a bit. He apologized and he tried to cough, but every time he did, his voice would get a little higher in pitch. After about a minute of trying to clear his throat, he gave up and continued to teach with a higher voice. Even though his voice was in a higher pitch, it wasn't quite feminine. However, it was different enough to wake up the students who had fallen asleep, who, in turn, were surprised to see a younger looking teacher with a higher voice.
