The door opened and in walked Biff, looking just as normal as ever, though his attire was a bit less casual.
"Biff, I can explain," Sarah said, but couldn't think of a good reason of why she was half-naked in a bedroom with Jon, and why the little clothing they were wearing was for the opposite gender.
He suddenly burst out laughing. "Oh, man, I'm sorry, babe, but I couldn't help it. I knew that the program was malfunctioning, but this was the first time I saw it in person."
"Program? What are you talking about?" Jon asked, as confused about that as Sarah was.
"Yeah," Sarah agreed.
"You don't know? Oh, man, I heard that some users were having this problem. I just didn't think you'd be one of them. And both of you don't remember? That's weird. One person not remembering, that's one thing. But the person you're paired with ...?"
"Just tell us what's going on," Jon said, maybe a little too bluntly.
"We're all in a computer simulation. It's something that the high school is letting students do, for extra credit. The point of it is that we're supposed to be living lives where we're married to a person we don't like. That part was done right, but some kind of computer error caused some of our parts to be reversed. So now some guys are playing the parts of the wives, and some of the girls are playing the parts of the husbands. Fortunately the error didn't do anything to me or the girl I was paired with, not that it's all great or anything anyway. I mean, of all the people they had to pick for my wife, why did it have to be her."
"Who did you get paired with?" Sarah asked.
Biff responded by saying ...
