"I'm not really into tech or even sci-fi," Jessica said. "Although ... I did enjoy 'The Matrix'. Those movies were fucking cool." She blinked, confused. She never saw those movies. So why did it feel like she had?
"What makes that gun 'evil'?" Tiffany asked. "It's made me a better person."
"But you're not supposed to be like that," Jon said, realizing that he was maybe too late in convincing them. "With that device, Karyn could change anyone into anything, against their will."
"That's terrible," came the voice of Amber. "No one should be forced to conform to a specific type of identity. I'll help you, Jon."
Jon was delighted, though it was actually Amber's new persona of a non-binary person that made "them" want to help him.
"Anyone else want to come?" he asked, holding out hope.
