Ever since she found herself in this horrid bedroom and saw that she had somehow changed into the freak she now was, Nadine had been in a complete daze. Before all of this happened, she was with her friends Tina and Paul. If they saw her now, not only would they not recognize her, but they'd surely accuse her of either being insane or a devil worshiper. Or both. She still didn't even know how this could even happen to her. The clothing, that was something that she supposed could have been put on her without her noticing much, if she had been knocked out, or something. A black T-shirt with the logo of "Cannibal Corpse" (a death metal band, not that Nadine would know that) on the front, a black leather miniskirt, torn fishnets, and Doc Martins on her feet. She could also explain away the spiked bracelets on her wrists, or the three spiked collars around her neck, each with different sized spikes, not to mention the black make-up. But the hair? First of all, it was dyed green, bright green. Second, and this was more disturbing, her hair was formed into spikes (liberty spikes, as they were called), each one about 12 inches in length. The thing that made the least sense of all were her tattoos and piercings. Even out cold, wouldn't she notice herself getting pierced? Or getting tattoos? Speaking of those tattoos, they were tattoo sleeves, with a theme that was too dark, too gothic, maybe even too demonic for Nadine to fathom. Her piercings weren't overdone, but still ... it would take some getting used to having them in her nostril, eyebrow, and ... her nipples. Yeah, she had checked.

Suddenly, the phone rang, breaking her out of her daze. She looked down and saw a black-colored smart phone sitting on the bedroom's nightstand. She instinctively picked it up and answered it.

"Nadine ... it's Sarah," a female voice said. Did she know someone named Sarah? "I'm worried about Jon. I think someone slipped her something last night and she's acting really weird." What was that? This Sarah girl said "Jon", but then called him a "she"? Wait, what did she say about slipping her something last night? "I left her in bed," Sarah continued. "But later when I went by ... she wasn't there. I think she might be in trouble."

Suddenly, Nadine grew angry and sneered. "When I find the guy who did that, I'm gonna fuck them over so bad that ..." Then Nadine's eyes went wide. What was that? Did she just say ... the F-word? And why was she so angry all of a sudden? It's not like she even knew who this Jon girl, or boy, was, not to mention the girl who was on the phone right now.

What am I saying? Of course I know who Jon is. She's one of my best friends. More than that, I also have a crush on her. How could I forget the girl I love?

Nadine dropped the phone in shock. Why did she think all of that?!

"Hello? Nadine?" came Sarah's voice, from the phone, which was on the floor of Nadine's new gothic bedroom, in an unfamiliar house that she would soon call home.
