Jon went home as quick as he could. All around him women were proposing to men on the street to have seks. It was a surreal image and one that could have been exactly what he wanted. But none of the women wanted it this way, he couldn't leave things like this.
When he got home his red headed sister was sitting at the kitchen table looking at something in her hand. On the table in front of her was her card. It already had 2 signatures. Jon went over to her and kissed her feet.
"I have returned home family goddess. How was your day?" He said.
"Horrible. Now leave me alone."
Jon's new black younger brother arrived and gave his sister a glass of cola.
Jon excused himself and quickly went upstairs. He opened the drawer he put the stone in, but it was gone.
"Where?"
He looked under his bed, under the cabinet. Nothing, he'd lost the stone. "Where is it!"
He pulled all his things out of the drawers, he looked in his shoes. Nothing.
Looking at the mess he'd made he realised another thing. He didn't see the note anywhere either.
One of his siblings must have gone into his room and taken it. He quickly went downstairs again.
He asked the black boy carefully avoiding the fact that he didn't know his own brothers name. "No I don't have anything. But aren't you confused big bro? Sharon received a package yesterday from Grandpa."
Jon's mind was racing. He bolted through the kitchen door and curtsied before her.
Upon getting up he noticed what she was holding.
"That's my rock!" He said.
"Don't be stupid Jon, it's my rock. Grandpa sent it to me." She bit back.
"You went into my room! That's my rock!"
"God I hate little brothers. I have enough crap today as it is Jon." She stuck her hand in a pocket in her top and pulled out a note. It was a familiar note. The start said:
"Dear Sharon,
If you are reading this, it means I have passed on. Do not mourn my leaving; although we shall no longer be able to spend time together, be happy knowing that where I am now is just a new start and a different perspective than before and that I shall just look at it as my next great adventure."
She didn't unfold it completely, Jon knew why. It didn't matter, he knew what it said. With more siblings to choose from he was no longer his grandfather's favorite.
A realisation struck Jon. Why had he kissed her feet? When his sister was Zoe he didn't do that. Sharon had been wishing things!
He felt like someone had pulled the carpet from under him. Was he even Jon to begin with? Maybe he was Zoe?
He sat down, trying to comprehend what had happened.
Sharon just looked on in a combination of amazement and annoyance.
