Having a Fairy Good Time

"Your transformation from a normal human girl into The Blue Fairy."
"What, like the fairy that turned Pinocchio into a real boy?"
"She was one of the last of the blue fairies. I wasn't around at the time, but I think she might have been The Blue Fairy of were day."
"Is there two kinds of blue fairies?"
"There are normal blue fairies, who are all the daughters or sisters of The Blue Fairy, queen of our people. The last Blue Fairy disappeared two hundred years ago. Ever since then, black fairies have been destroying everything we hold dear. Fortunately, we have found the Blue Fairy's wand, and I have found you, a child worthy both in heart and mind to lead out race into the next great age of Fairedoom."
"But I don't want to lead your race. I want to grow up and be a normal girl."
"I'm afraid you can't do that. You must begin your truing in the fairy arts."
"Can't I at least finish High School? I only have three more years after this one."
She looked puzzled, and flew around my room several times before stopping in front of me again. "I suppose, if you will be willing to learn from me on the weekends and breaks. You can live out your remaining human childhood as I begin to teach you magic. Now sleep." As she said those last words, I could feel myself falling asleep, and as my wings stopped beating, the ground rushed up to meat me.
