When Jon got back home, he headed up to his bedroom, locking the door behind him. He didn't want any interruptions.
After some thought, Jon had a brilliant idea for a wish, something that could change reality without bowing to the restrictions of the stone, as far as contradictions went.
"I wish that whenever I ask a question that implies something that isn't true, it becomes true." The stone glowed, granting his wish.
Now to try it out. Jon looked around the room and had an idea.
"Where's my TV?" he asked, looking in no particular direction. He turned and looked at his standard definition TV. It looked the same as always. It was already true that he had a TV, so nothing changed. He looked away again. "Where's my 32" LCD flat panel TV?"
Jon turned and watched in amazement as his TV morphed into what he just said. "Oh, there it is," he said with a smile. This was great!
Now to see if he could contradict what he just said. If he had made a wish with the stone, he couldn't.
"Isn't my TV so antiquated?"
Jon watched again as the TV changed right before his eyes. It became a standard definition TV again, but it didn't stop there. It changed until it looked like something from the 1950's or 60's. He turned it on and saw that it wasn't even in color.
Obviously, he'd rather have the hi-def.
"Where's my 32" LCD flat panel TV?" he asked, and the black and white TV morphed back into the modern television. Jon nodded, then decided to leave his bedroom. He stashed the stone away, then left his room. He was eager to see how his new "power" worked elsewhere.
