"I wish that an exact copy of my current self would appear at the location and point in time I made my last wish and that after I make my next wish that he would receive this wishing stone."
The stone glowed, and then Jon prepared himself for the next part. It hadn't made any sense when he had used the stone to learn of it, and it still didn't. But time travel loops rarely make sense, and what he was about to do was already done. What Jon had been trying in vain to explain to Karyn is that she was really himself, Jon. Or it was really that she had once been him from the future who went to the past, the point in the past he was in right now.
The change to the past was that at THIS current point in time in the past, right now, Karyn doesn't exist. She only started to exist after Jon wished for it, or more exactly she starts to exist when he WILL wish for it..right now.
"I wish that I was a girl named Karyn who was born today to Mr. & Mrs. Young and that I would not remember any memories of my current life until I meet the copy of myself I sent to the future with my previous wish."
The stone glowed and Jon forgot that he was Jon and became Karyn. He would live his life as Karyn his (her) whole new life, only remembering that he was really Jon 17 and a half years later....
------17 and a half years later------
Karyn saw Jon disappear and then a half second later reappear. But...no, she suddenly realized that it wasn't Jon that reappeared, but rather a duplicate of herself from the past. Karyn suddenly blinked several times as he struggled to reconcile the memories of both his former life as Jon AND the memories of her current life as Karyn.
The copy of her former self, Jon, looked at Karyn and said, "Do you get it now?"
