I couldn't finish as I heard Lyndsay's voice calling me from behind the door.

"Jon! Would you kindly hurry up and finally come here!"

I gasped as I heard Lindsay call to me, and I could feel control of my body slipping away. Is this what the center intended my life to be? Some sick parody of Bioshock?

I pulled the robe over my body and reached for the doorknob. I had to think of something. She could make me do anything, and if she started to go crazy with this ability...I may never get to the stone.

As I began walking back to the living room, my mind was racing. The note had said that the reason this was implemented was because of the unwillingness of Lindsay's past trainees. If I could make myself seem willing to learn from her, I may be able to get through the day without having to do too much out of my comfort zone.

Lindsay looked over at me as I emerged from the bathroom, smiling. "How you doing, Jon?" she asked.

"Fine, I suppose." I said. "Sorry it took me so long, I was...taking in the changes."

"Oh, no problem. I guess it must be a lot to take in. But, it'll be so much better if you just accept this and go with it. This really isn't a bad life. I mean, you get to make money for providing, and getting, pleasure."

"Um, yeah, I suppose." I said, clearing my throat, still getting used to the change in pitch. "It's just a lot to take in. I mean, I never considered this as an option when I got my letter to go to the center."

"Very few consider this as a possibility, but it's really not a bad job to get." Lindsay said.

"I...don't think it will be. I mean, it's not what I was expecting, but, well, I don't think it'll be bad." I said, carefully choosing my words. I looked to Lindsay, and she seemed to be pleased.

"Anyway, we should discuss what we're going to need to do." Lindsay said. "You're going to need new clothes. The center should send someone to your house to collect your old clothes, and they'll leave a card there for you to buy some new ones."

That was it. My chance to get to the stone. All I needed to do was get it when we went to my house to get that card.

"We will need to wait till you're done changing, though. Wouldn't do much good to get you clothes that won't fit by the end of the day."

"Makes sense." I said. I glanced down at my body quickly. I knew the changes were still progressing, but I couldn't see how much with the bathrobe on. "But, how can I go shopping wearing this?" I asked.

"I've got some sweats that you can wear once you're done changing." Linday said. "More tea?"

I looked at the cup I had been given before my trip to the bathroom. It was still mostly full. "No thanks, I've still got some."

"Alright, I'm gonna go get myself some. Be right back." Lindsay said, heading to the kitchen.

I sighed as she left. So far, so good. All I had to do was get home without her using that special phrase again, and I'd be in the clear. I just hoped I could pull it off...
