(changing the POV to first person. I = Jon)

I sat on the bed. So what should I do now? I thought. I didn't like the idea of doing my homework which I was just about to do before I wished my wish. Besides, it seemed that I wasn't to go to school tomorrow anyway. I decided to play some computer games to pass time. I played for some time, but then after realising that the only thing that I was thinking about was meeting my new career tomorrow I decided to just go to sleep. The time is going to pass faster if I'll be sleeping...

The next day I woke up at 6:30AM which for me is very early. I ate some cereal for my breakfast even though I wasn't really hungry, then changed into some casual clothes and left the house at 7:15 when the rest of my family was just starting their morning routines.

I decided to take a bus, as the address I saw on the letter from the Career Assignment Centre was almost a whole town's length from the place where I lived. I arrived there at 7:50. A new big building was standing where just yesterday was nothing but an empty parcel. There were two entrances to the building: the sign about the first one said FOR MENTORS and the one above the second door said FOR CANDIDATES. I chose the second one.

As I entered I saw a reception similar to the ones found in health centres. I walked to the counter.

"Hi! I'm Jon and I was told to come for the Career Assignment today." I gave the letter to the receptionist. "Do you need my ID?"

"No, that won't be necessary. You see, we have every candidate's profile here. And that includes their picture." She pointed at the computer's screen there was my face smiling on it with some writing below. I tried to read some of it but she twisted the screen so that I couldn't see anything again.

"Ok then," she continued "your mentor is not here yet but she should be here pretty soon."

Hmmm... My mentor is a 'she' I thought I wonder if she's good-looking...

"You can go and wait in the waiting lounge at the end of this corridor. And you also should read this before you meet your mentor. It's a letter from the CAC representative which explains roughly what will happen during the following day or two."

I took the letter and headed to the waiting lounge. The room was big and mostly empty. From the few people that sat there I recognised one girl form school but I was too interested in what was inside the letter that I decided not to go and talk to her.

I sat down, took a deep breath, opened the letter and started reading fast as it was 7:59 already and my mentor could arrive in any moment.

The letter said:...
