Jon looked into Zoe's room. It was very, very different than when he had last seen it. The walls were no longer painted black, all of her old posters of Marilyn Manson were gone. It looked like the bedroom of a typical teenage guy.
Zoe herself was standing in the middle of the room, wearing boxers and a white t-shirt, and obviously no bra. She still had long hair, however it just hung long, not styled at all, and she wore no make-up. She was looking at the clothes she had laid out on her bed, two outfits, a blue collared button up shirt with khaki pants and a red sweater with corduroys.
Zoe looked up at Jon, "Oh, hey bro."
Jon smiled, her attitude had sure improved. If he'd peeked his head in her room a couple minutes ago, she would've just yelled at him to get out.
"Can I get your opinion on something?" she asked. "Which of these outfits do you think I should wear tonight? I'm taking Jill to the movies."
Jon smiled, in the old reality Zoe hated Jill. Jill was one of the more popular girls in her grade, and somewhat of a prep. As a goth, Zoe of course hated her. But now apparently they were going out on a date.
"I'd go with the khakis." Jon said.
"Thanks, bro." said Zoe, starting to get dressed.
"So, hey, you and Jill, huh?" asked Jon.
"Ha, yeah," laughed Zoe. "We'll see how it goes, I don't know though... I was actually gonna ask you about your friend Karyn."
"Karyn?" asked Jon, confused.
"Yeah, is she seeing anyone? I was thinking of asking her out on Friday, if it's cool with you, of course..."
Jon paused, unsure of what to say or do next.
