Jon puckered up his lips and applied a layer of bright red lipstick as if he had been doing it for years. He grabbed a tissue and blotted any excess off and then blew himself a kiss. Delighted with the results. He didn't give it a second thought that he wouldn't have done this yesterday but it just felt right. He fluffed his hair a bit but there wasn't much he could do with it. The only feminine touch he could think of was to use a small hair clip with a fake diamond butterfly on it to hold his fringe back away from his face.
He was still admiring his reflection when he heard his mom shouting from the kitchen to check he was nearly ready. Jon shouted out, "Coming mom," but immediately stopped himself and put his hand to his throat. It was obvious his voice had changed. It sounded much higher and breathier. He hoped no one would find it odd but was fairly sure they wouldn't. Looking down at the two large breasts filling out his dress he thought if people didn't find that odd then his voice was unlikely to be noticed.
He wanted to take a few minutes to get used to his new voice and wondered what he sounded like to everyone else. He decided to record himself on his phone and listen back to it. He thought for a second about what to say and then decided on, "Hi, my name is Jon. I'm a 15 year old boy. I have one sister and one brother and my best friend is Karyn Black."
Jon played the recording back and was surprised to hear that what he had meant to say and what he actually said were quite different. He heard a soft, girly face saying," Hi. My name is Jon. I'm... like... a 15 year old boy. I have... like... one sister and one little brother and my bestie is Karyn Black." The recording also ended with a slight giggle. Jon was amazed. He had said, basically, what he wanted to say but he sounded a bit ditzy and had a very feminine speech pattern. "This is gone be totally weird. I think like a boy but talk a bit like a ditzy girl."
Hearing his mom calling him again he quickly pulled a part of small socks and some white sneakers. He admired how the sneakers looked with the dress. He grabbed his school bag and headed downstairs to grab some breakfast before school. His mom greeted him and complimented his choice of dress. Jon thanked her and automatically gave her a little twirl to show off the dress fully. Jon ate a slice of toast and worried about being late hurried out the door. He texted Karyn on the way to school to say he'd see her soon. He felt a bit bad about not spending as much time with Karyn lately, focusing all his attention on Laura. He told himself he'd try to make up for that today. He knew he and Karyn were in all but one of each others classes today so that would help.
