After a couple of seconds, the blocks spelling WOMAN began to glow. Jane the cat felt slightly dizzy but that's what she'd hoped for so when she looked down at her paws, she was gratified but not at all surprised to see hands reform as the fur on them faded away. In a little bit, the proportions of her son's room were back to normal for an ordinary normal-sized woman. Jane closed her eyes and moaned in relief to be a human again not a cat.
So she didn't notice when her son Jon appeared in the doorway, back from his chore of taking the garbage from the garage to the curb. She didn't see his eyes grow wide in surprise, wider than you'd expect at seeing his mom in his room. "Uh, Mom...", he began, as she opened her eyes and scrutinized her hands while she wriggled her fingers. He didn't know why she was so fascinated by her hands, not when large and very realistic cat ears now sprouted from her head and a fur covered tail snaked from the base of her back.
