"Fuck yes!" Zoe returned to normal, although Jon had never seen it. Zoe's clothes became those of a normal teenager. Blouse, jeans, shoes. Brunette hair down to her shoulders and freckles.
"Thank god," Zoe said. "I can breathe again!"
"Glad you're back," Jon said. "But now that we're here, wanna flip again?"
Jon held up the coin. Zoe looked at it skeptically, but he could see she was ready to have some fun. Her face lit up and her eyes narrowed in challenge.
"What's the bet?"
"Haven't decided yet. How about whoever loses the call gets long blonde hair?"
"That's it?"
"Keepin' it simple. If I know us, the loser won't be fine with settling with one coin toss."
"Ha. Alright toss."
Jon flipped the coin. "Call it."
"Tails."
Jon let it land on the ground. They watched it settle on tails.
"Drat," Jon said. His head tingled. He put his hands up to his hair, only to meet it at his shoulders. A lot of it dangled in his face, he felt it grow along his back until it was waist length. Jon shook it out of his face and pushed some strands behind his ear.
Zoe laughed. "That's a good look for you, Jon!"
Jon laughed too while reaching for the quarter. But Zoe snapped it up.
"Nope! Now it's my turn to make the bet."
