Jon hesitated a moment. Had he done it correctly? The first edit he had made was to turn Steve into a girl. The second was to make her attracted to Jon, and willing to leave Sarah. There were a lot of other things he could have done, but he didn't.
Jon clicked on the picture and suddenly the girl appeared in his room. She was still wearing Steve's uniform. It was too big, of course and she seemed lost in it--like trying to put on a costume which was two sizes too large.
"Hey!" yelled Steve.
"Take it easy, Steve, you're a girl now," said Jon.
"I'm a chick?" she said. She took off her helmet, and felt her face and then her chest. The face was softer, feminine, without even a trace of facial hair. The hair on her head was dark brown and very short, the same as it was on Steve, making her look like she had some kind of weird butch haircut. Her breasts made noticeable lumps in the uniform in front, which she touched, and moved with her fingers. What Jon could see of her body was lean and athletic.
"I'm a chick!" she yelled.
"Hold it," said Jon. "You don't need to panic."
"I'm a chick! What happened? What will Mom and Dad say? What will the team say? And who are you anyway? You're someone from class, I know."
"I want you to go out with me."
"I'm not gay!" she yelled. "Get away from me, you creep." She looked like she was going to shove Jon away, but instead just muttered "You're a guy. I just don't do things like that," in a voice that had hints of uncertainty.
Jon replied "It's okay" and put his hands around Steve.
Steve jerked back saying "I'm not going to cry on your shoulder."
"Don't you feel something between us?"
"I never have before and I'm not about to now. It doesn't matter how cute you are. I've got to go home, get to a doctor...."
"You said I was cute. Let's go out."
The female Steve didn't answer. While Jon returned to the computer, preparing to modify the profile, which should change the Steve in front of him (and if it didn't, could easily be wished into doing so.)
