"What did you wish for, Jon? Before we met up."
Jon took a moment to reply. "I wished to know how to extend to range of the stone," he admitted. "And once I knew, that's what I did."
"Why though?!" Karyn groaned. "Jon, that's incredibly reckless!"
"Because I was thinking about making Doctor Who real, okay?!" Jon snapped. "I knew if I wished it up before, nothing would have happened. Some wishes are too big for the stone to handle all at once."
By now, they'd pulled up into the mall parking lot. Jon chose an empty space and turned the engine off. He looked at Karyn properly this time.
"Look, I know what I did was foolish, and I'm real sorry. I promise though, that I did not make any other wishes."
Karyn sighed and offered her friend a small smile. "I'm not mad, Jon. I just... After I made that stupid wish for these," she gestured at her chest, "I just don't want us to make anymore mistakes."
"We can still fix that, you know," Jon offered, but Karyn shook her head.
"No, I've been doing some thinking, and even though I'm not happy with them, they're still a reminder to be more careful about what I wish for in the future."
"Are you sure?"
She nodded. Her friend chose not push the matter further. Together, they stepped out of the car and into the parking lot.
