At first, nothing happened. Karyn tried concentrating harder, but it didn't help. "That makes sense," she thought, "I don't move my arm by thinking about moving it, or picturing it moving. I just move it. Maybe if I just relax?"
She took a couple of deep breaths, calming herself and trying to relax her whole body. As she did so, staring off into space, she saw Jon's eyes tracking the movements of her chest during the deep breathing. "He's being such a guy," Karyn thought, tuning out everything else.
Then she felt herself change. It was a pleasant, distracting sensation, not unlike taking a nice shower. Looking down at herself, she saw the exposed parts of her body shimmer and waver. She felt a swelling in her backside, in her chest and then saw the whole room become ever so slightly smaller as she grew a couple of inches in height. Just as the feelings faded away, she felt a few sharp pinches in her ears and one on the right side of her nose.
"What the hell was that?" Karyn demanded. She reached up and grabbed at her hair, yanking a fire engine red braid in front of her face. "This isn't right," she insisted, "Really, it's exactly wrong." She dropped the braid and glared at Jon, who was staring at her, as she patted herself down to try to figure out the extent of the changes without doing anything undignified.
"Um, you..." began Jon, then he paused and shook his head. Under Karyn's withering glare he added, "You look a lot like a girl I saw at the mall the other day. A college girl, she was really pretty. I hope when I'm in college, I can--"
"Wait, wait," Karyn interjected, "Why would I look like someone I've never even seen?" She stood up and began pacing around the room slowly, trying to think. "I had my mind clear, my body relaxed...until I noticed you staring at my chest. I could just feel you staring." She stopped and folded her arms under her breasts, standing still with her back towards Jon. "Just like I can now! Knock that off, this isn't funny."
Jon opened and then closed his mouth. Slowly, he said "Karyn, I am not staring at you. I looked away as soon as you started talking about it."
